ROQUE ARISTA, 2023
MATERIAL: Acrylic on Canvas DIMENSIONS: 80 x 55 cm
DESCRIPTION This work represents an inspired creation process. From the colorful unstructured texture on the lower half of the painting starts the creation of matter. The painter was inspired by the ceramics of his culture: the Shipibos, a Pano speaking people living around the rainforest town of Pucalllpa, Peru towards th Brazilian and Ecuadorian border. They are famous for their decorative ceramics, clothing and embroidery. We see jars (tinajas), bowls (mocahuas) and a rain stick. Some of these are functional and serve to collect water or regional drinks, others are decorative. All of them are made from clay that is also used for the texture of the work.
Paintings come with a description of the painting and symbols, and a bio of the painter.
