DIMENSIONS: 80 x 55 cm

The theme of this painting was inspired by the belief in the Amazon that the Toe plant makes you dream if you put it under your pillow. In the painting, the woman imagines that she can see the creatures of the forest: the plants and animals, some in the form of spirits and others in real life. Nature itself teaches us much about how to protect it, care for it and live in harmony. The animals in the painting are alert. On the left is the jaguar that represents protection and integrity in the cosmovision of the tribes. Above that, another feline. On the lower right is the snake that stands for healing (Aesculapius). We see above the flower of the Toe in green and at the ears of the woman in blue. The Toe plant is also an important plant in the traditional "dietas" of the curanderos (shamans) in the Amazon. Above left the medicinal vine and the waterfall is an element that is very common in the high rainforest (selva alta) around Pucallpa.

Paintings come with a description of the painting and symbols, and a bio of the painter.

If you are able to buy and collect the painting in Westerlo, there is a €30 discount and you save the mailing/handling costs.
